Business Development Manager-Solutions Architect
About the Role
The Business Development Manager (BDM) - Solutions Architect drives growth of Emerson's engineered solutions business across North America. This role partners with customers, EPCs, and sales teams to identify opportunities, develop technical solutions, influence project specifications, and secure capital projects. The position focuses on custody transfer metering, process analytical systems, and lifecycle services while expanding Emerson's market share and recurring revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver business performance that meets or exceeds orders and sales commitments.
- Drive bookings, pipeline growth, and market share for engineered solutions and services.
- Develop and pursue opportunities for metering, analytical, and monitoring system solutions.
- Engage customers and EPCs early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications and solution selection.
- Develop differentiated technical solutions that deliver customer value and business growth.
- Lead or support strategic project pursuits and proposal development.
- Identify lifecycle service, upgrade, digitalization, and recurring revenue opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate across sales, engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Participate in local related professional societies, key technical conferences, and trade shows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in technical business development, solutions architecture, application engineering, systems engineering, technical sales, or Capital Project Pursuits.
- Knowledge of custody transfer metering, process analytical systems, instrumentation and controls, and industrial measurement solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience developing customer-focused solutions and pursuit strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% across North America.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting EPCs and complex industrial projects.
- Experience with hydrocarbon measurement, custody transfer metering, or process analytical systems.
- Knowledge of LNG, refining, petrochemical, power, pipeline, or offshore markets.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business Administration.
