Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager defines short and long-term strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. This outside role partners with an Inside Sales Manager to manage existing client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prospect for new clients through networking, advertising, cold calling, and other means of generating interest from potential clients, both vendor and direct.
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners and exploring opportunities.
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, to establish and maintain client relationships.
- Develop rapport with new clients and grow business through regular meetings and reviews.
- Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services.
- Develop a robust pipeline of transactions.
- Provide support that continually improves customer relationships.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing deal requirements and financials.
- Increase sales opportunities to maximize revenue for the organization.
- Work with technical staff and internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels to increase sales.
- Identify, prospect, and sign new dealer and end-user relationships for the Work Truck Group.
- Expand relationships within dealerships and create a network of contacts at each location.
- Perform regular business reviews with dealers to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- B.A. preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
- Excellent business sense.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to effectively respond to management requirements in a timely manner.
Pay
$120,000-$150,000 annual salary depending on experience, plus commission.
