About the Role
This hybrid Business Development, Parts role is based in Mason, Ohio. The successful candidate will develop and execute a business plan to expand our parts business, aligning strategy with market dynamics and company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Business Plan Development:
- Formulate business unit strategy.
- Analyze customer needs, product catalog, and market dynamics, including competitive pricing and go-to-market models.
- Identify operating requirements (facilities, equipment, personnel, systems).
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to develop inventory stocking and replenishment strategies.
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and profit objectives.
- Establish sales, gross profit, and EBITDA objectives.
- Create an execution plan with Gantt chart critical path analysis for business unit launch.
- Business Plan Execution:
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Distribution Center, and other teams to transition to a new parts business model, enhancing service capabilities.
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure cost advantage, supply continuity, and logistics efficiency.
- Secure operational assets and resources for business unit launch.
- Implement parts pricing models in Oracle.
- Progressively launch the parts business model per the business plan.
- Operational Management:
- Lead, guide, and develop the business unit team.
- Travel to markets to engage with customers and account managers, assessing trends and opportunities.
- Monitor and manage business unit performance, mitigating risks and capitalizing on opportunities.
- Track competitive activity and develop strategies for competitive advantage.
- Negotiate and communicate with outside vendors as needed.
- Lead or participate in project-related teams.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the fiscal year P&L budget.
- Provide monthly performance reporting, including forecast guidance.
- Create performance management dashboards for real-time business analytics.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Four-year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus education.
- 7–10 years of industry or related experience.
- Previous experience selling to builders or new construction preferred.
- Willingness to travel overnight regularly.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Above-average communication skills.
