Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for managing and strategically growing Southern Glazer's business through influential leadership in the Houston, TX area.

Responsibilities

  • Support accounts in trade channels including Off-Premise, regional, and national customers.
  • Achieve revenue, margin, and gross profit targets as set by the Sales Director.
  • Communicate local program spending effectiveness to maximize company profits and determine ROI on focused initiatives.
  • Analyze and project quarterly and monthly business for assigned territory.
  • Provide strategic conflict resolution, remove performance obstacles, and address relationship concerns among key accounts.
  • Identify market trends, product category developments, and competitive positioning within the region and account base.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience.
  • 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience.
  • Dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to manage and stay within an assigned budget.
  • Strategic and analytical thought process with strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to analyze data to anticipate issues and model proactive solutions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and commercial planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Compass, Diver, Excel, and Proof.
  • Understanding of supplier strategies and ability to align with internal and external teams.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Demands

  • Considerable time spent sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer, mouse, and monitor or adding machine.
  • Occasional to rare walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • May require occasional lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45 lbs.
