About the role
The Capitol Forum is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their growing sales team. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role involves prospecting, developing, and closing new business within a designated territory.
Responsibilities
- Execute the firm’s sales strategy by driving new clients and maintaining existing clients brought on board.
- Proactively self-generate new leads through cold calling, email outreach, and prospecting.
- Achie assigned territory revenue goals.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of The Capitol Forum’s products and value proposition.
- Engage inbound leads from marketing campaigns, conferences, and inquiries.
- Build and maintain a robust prospective client pipeline.
- Conduct meetings, trials, and product demonstrations with prospects.
- Maintain accurate sales activity reports and forecasts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support growth initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- 2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in information, research, or media services.
- Strong client-facing communication skills; comfort discussing complex subject matter.
- Prominent ability to generate and close new business independently.
- Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation skills.
- Enthusiastic, driven, and highly self-motivated.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $75,000–$85,000, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission.
