As Business Development Manager, you will hunt for new independent retail money transfer agents and grow the existing agent transaction volume.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt for new independent retail money transfer agents and grow the existing agent transaction volume.
  • Drive revenue growth and help local businesses thrive, all while building lasting relationships and making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people in that community.
  • Prospect, cold-call, conduct face-to-face meetings, and deliver compelling sales presentations to close new agent partnerships and increase transaction volume with existing agents (independent retailers, convenience stores, etc.).
  • Lead a smooth onboarding process, including application, setup, and training new agents, ensuring they are set up for success with the necessary tools and instructions.
  • Drive transaction volume and gross profit by signing new and existing agents to meet and exceed monthly activation and transaction targets.
  • Analyze ongoing market data and trends to identify growth opportunities and recommend pricing or commission adjustments based on competitive and performance data.
  • Provide ongoing support to agents, including troubleshooting, marketing materials, and compliance guidance.
  • Work closely with internal teams (compliance, back-office operations, marketing) to ensure smooth execution and adherence to policies.
  • Participate in local marketing and community engagement efforts, including weekend events, as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in outside B2B sales or business development, ideally in the retail, consumer goods, or financial services sectors.
  • Fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
  • Proven experience selling to or working with local independent retailers in the field is a plus.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and great with time management.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel daily within the assigned territory.
  • Able to work occasional weekends for events or agent support.
  • Able to travel domestically.
  • Physically able to install small equipment/marketing displays (up to 25 lbs) and drive for extended periods of time.
  • Must be US-based, and an H-1B is not available.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is approximately $45,000-60,000 and includes commission plus an additional car allowance. The actual starting salary may vary depending on geographic location, work experience, and skills.
