About the role
As a Client Relationship Manager, you will be a seller/doer, leading GHD pursuits of traditional and collaborative delivery projects for public and private clients in the Gulf Coast region. This position will be based in our Houston or Baton Rouge office and focuses on growing relationships, identifying opportunities, and utilizing account management skills for major accounts within the petrochemical industries and related sectors. You will apply deep local knowledge and a global network of expertise to help Louisiana’s industries set the standard for environmental leadership and economic growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop key client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, including energy sector and port clients.
- Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex client accounts to identify and build relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
- Set clear objectives for sales calls or meetings, tailor presentations, and gather client feedback to refine propositions.
- Identify and present complex standard services that meet client needs, negotiating terms where necessary.
- Act as the client champion in cross-functional teams to build strong external relationships.
- Develop relationship management plans for potential client accounts to enable effective two-way communication.
- Maintain and update CRM data to ensure quality information for client retention and business development.
- Develop a personal network within the sales territory and represent the organization at trade shows and events.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory codes, and industry best practices.
- Build personal capabilities through training, conferences, and ongoing education in industry trends and technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of key Gulf Coast industries, including energy, petrochemical, shipping/ports, manufacturing, and agriculture.
- Experience in client engagement and business development, with a track record of building relationships across government, industry, and community stakeholders.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations (e.g., TCEQ, LDEQ, USACE, EPA, FERC, DOE).
- Proven ability to develop and execute market strategies.
- Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills as a seller/doer.

Schedule
