The Business Development Engineer plays a crucial role in Murata Electronics, supporting the design-in of Murata’s products through technical and application support. This position requires understanding and representing the company's general technical aspects across all products, recognizing and defining opportunities for new products, and managing product specifications.

What To Expect (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Enable design-in by providing effective technical and application support to customers.

  • Recognize and define opportunities for new products or changes to existing products to meet market needs.

  • Manage product specification at responsible customers in cooperation with local sales resources and product divisions.

  • Track competitors' activities to develop countermeasures and strategies to increase Murata's share.

  • Study and report on the latest needs and trends in markets and at customers to ascertain their impact on Murata.

  • Take action to establish and maintain Murata's industry-leading market position.

  • Conduct product promotion for the assigned products at assigned customers, in cooperation with local sales resources and product divisions.

  • Create and utilize sales tools, and create new tools for the assigned products and customers.

  • Facilitate easy access for related parties to use in promotion activities at customers.

  • Author application guides and technical papers on mainstream topics via cooperation with Murata Product Divisions.

  • Provide product training by creating material and delivering training.

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 1-2 years of related experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal skills, including effective collaboration and communication.

  • Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills to work among individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong time management skills to accomplish short and long-term assignments, along with judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

  • Customer-facing work experience.

  • 2+ years’ industry-related experience.

  • Financial, communication, and project management skills.

  • Previous budgetary responsibilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of target market industries.
