About the role

We’re expanding on the West Coast and hiring a Business Development Director to launch, lead, and scale a brand-new GTM team based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Build and coach a world-class business development team from scratch
  • Launch, develop and lead the West Coast GTM strategy — from ICP to outbound execution
  • Source and close complex $1M+ ACV deals with high-growth, VC-backed startups
  • Partner with marketing to shape campaigns and generate qualified leads
  • Represent Vention in the startup and venture ecosystem through events and relationships
  • Use AI tooling (n8n, Apollo, etc.) to build a scalable, high-efficiency GTM strategy
  • Collaborate with legal, delivery, and talent teams to close well-structured, client-aligned deals
  • Report directly to company leadership on pipeline, team health, and GTM performance

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales or GTM roles, with 3+ in a leadership or strategic ownership position
  • Proven track record of building and executing sales strategies in fast-growth environments
  • Experience closing $1M+ deals and partnering with technical stakeholders and closing complex sales deals
  • Deep understanding of software development, product strategy, and engineering orgs
  • Outcome-driven mindset — you prioritize clarity, velocity, and results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
  • Experience in consultative sales
  • Passion for building – teams, playbooks, strategies, and trusted client relationships

Skills

  • Experience with AI-enabled sales tools and GTM automation

OTE: $360K+ (Base: $140K–$174K + commission and team related bonus)

Pay

Base Salary: $140,000 - $174,000. On Target Earnings: $360,000+
