Sales Overview

The Business Development (BD) Director will drive the growth of the firm's professional services within the real estate industry, focusing on companies with revenues ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion. Key services include tax and audit annuity contracts, business consulting engagements, and specialized services like Fund Administration, Technical Accounting Consulting, Financial and Accounting Outsourcing, Valuation, Risk/Internal Audit, SOC/Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404, Information Technology/System Selection, Construction Cost Auditing, and Construction Cost Segregation.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and qualifying opportunities with companies not currently served by the firm.
  • Executing the sales plan and process, coordinating necessary internal and external resources to position the firm for securing business.
  • Networking and leveraging industry contacts, professional affiliations, and Centers of Influence to identify and target key companies.
  • Supporting Partners, Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers in cross-selling additional services to existing clients.
  • Collaborating with local and national marketing resources to develop effective go-to-market plans for industry teams.
  • Closely working with National Sales Organization management to provide ongoing feedback on market opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 10+ years of experience selling professional services to corporations with revenues ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sales processes involving multiple team members and decision-makers, particularly C-suite executives.
  • Experience working with and having contacts within the middle market real estate companies, broadly defined as holding assets of $100 million to $5 billion.
  • A network of Centers of Influence (COIs) including banking, legal, and other professional services relationships that can be leveraged to identify opportunities within assigned industry groups.
  • Expertise in driving a complex sale cycle from identification to deal closure.
  • Ability to manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Statement of Work (SOW) processes.
  • Experience using a CRM tool for report generation and sales tracking.
  • Prior experience using social media technologies for networking purposes.
  • Strong influence, negotiation, and executive presence; excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
