Business Development Director, Executive Education

About the role

The Center for Executive Development (CED) at Mays Business School seeks a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to drive growth for executive education programs. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships with corporations, and promoting customized educational services to C-suite executives and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential corporate clients and academic institutions through research, networking, and outreach.
  • Develop and implement business development plans to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Create tailored proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals to secure new partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite leaders, deans, and program managers to understand their learning needs.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events to strengthen brand presence and expand networks.
  • Conduct ongoing research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in executive education.
  • Partner with marketing, program design, and operations teams to align sales efforts and ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, education, or a related field.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in business development.
  • A well-qualified candidate should also possess an MBA or a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales or business development.
  • Experience in selling complex, multi-year service contracts is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • An understanding of the basics of business, management, and leadership principles.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

  • Compensation range of $110,000 - $150,000; commensurate to selected hire’s experience.
