Position Overview:
The Business Development Director will be responsible for driving B2B growth in xenograft biomaterials, with a focus on fresh tissue, fixed tissue, and collagen-based solutions across key clinical segments including Spine, Sports & Orthopedics, Cardiac, and Plastic & Reconstructive surgery. This role requires deep expertise in xenograft processing, applications, and value propositions within a CDMO environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess deep expertise in xenograft processing, applications, and value propositions within a CDMO environment.
- Identify strategic targets with a focus on companies developing products utilizing xenograft biomaterials (fresh tissue, fixed tissue, and collagen).
- Develop Key Account Strategies aligned to clients’ xenograft sourcing, processing, and commercialization needs, positioning Evergen as a strategic CDMO partner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their requirements and internal processes.
- Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration (R&D, regulatory, and manufacturing) to develop and deliver customized xenograft-based solutions.
- Translate xenograft platform capabilities (e.g., decellularization, fixation, collagen processing) into customer-specific value propositions.
- Identify and shape opportunities where xenograft materials can replace or outperform alternative biomaterials, driving differentiation for customers.
- Lead negotiations and close deals, ensuring favorable terms for the company and high levels of client satisfaction.
- Maintain a deep understanding of market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Prepare for and represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other networking events to promote our capabilities and expand our client base.
- Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and sales performance to senior management.
- Leverage CRM tools to maintain documentation of account planning, prospects, and pipeline development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the medical device industry, including at least 2 years within a medical device CDMO environment.
- Deep understanding of xenograft biomaterials, including fresh tissue, fixed tissue, and collagen (fibrillar, solubilized, or formulated), and their applications in medical devices.
- Experience working with xenograft sourcing, processing, or manufacturing (e.g., decellularization, sterilization, or collagen processing).
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with xenograft-based product development or commercialization within a CDMO or OEM environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory and quality considerations specific to xenograft biomaterials.
- Established network of contacts within the medical device industry.
- Clinical expertise in focus market segments: Spine, Sports and Orthopedics, Cardiac, or Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
