About the Role

Our Sales Administration/Operations Management function plays a critical role in enabling the success of the commercial organization by driving operational excellence, supporting business development, and ensuring seamless execution of sales processes. The Business Development (BD) Consultant serves as a key support partner to the BD team, developing proposal content, maintaining RFP assets, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of customer-facing deliverables in support of business development pursuits.

Responsibilities

  • Develops high-quality proposal content by leveraging internal knowledge libraries, subject matter experts, and existing response assets.
  • Coordinates with BD and cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, validate responses, and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
  • Reviews responses for completeness, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to client requirements to support development of a competitive response.
  • Conducts targeted research on key client contacts, therapeutic areas, competitors, and relevant market dynamics to support opportunity pursuits, solution positioning, and proposal development.
  • Exercises sound judgment in identifying issues, escalating risks, and recommending solutions to support pursuit success.
  • Synthesizes complex information from multiple stakeholders into clear, concise, and client-focused deliverables.
  • Manages multiple concurrent pursuits and projects of varying complexity while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Completes work independently with strong attention to detail and receives general guidance on new or complex assignments.

Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects. May contribute to the development of policies and procedures. Works on complex projects of large scope. Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives. Completes work independently; receives general guidance on new projects. Work is reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives. May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or former RFP and Proposal writing / consulting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, patient services, and commercial business development, with the ability to apply industry knowledge to proposal development and pursuit support.
  • Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and timelines.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with a proactive mindset and strong follow-through.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing high-quality written content, proposals, presentations, or client deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with RFP/proposal management systems preferred (e.g., Ariba, Coupa).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) as business needs require.

Schedule

This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Employees are required to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm EST. Your new hire training will take place 8:00am-5:00pm CST; mandatory attendance is required.

Remote Work Details

You will work remotely, full-time in a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction-free environment with access to high-speed internet. The company will provide the computer, technology, and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You are responsible for providing high-speed internet with the following requirements:

  • Maintain a secure, high-speed, broadband internet connection (DSL, Cable, or Fiber) at the remote location. Dial-up, satellite, WIFI, and cellular connections are NOT acceptable.
  • Download speed of 15Mbps (megabyte per second).
  • Upload speed of 5Mbps (megabyte per second).
  • Ping rate maximum of 30ms (milliseconds).
  • Hardwired to the router.
  • Surge protector with Network Line Protection for company-issued equipment.

Pay

Anticipated hourly range: $67,500 - $96,300. The hourly range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience, skills, and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
