Business Development Consultant - Ann Arbor / Detroit

About the role

This role will support revenue growth through customer focus, relationship development, and disciplined commercial execution. You will collaborate with sales, customer, product, and operational partners to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen market execution, customer relationships, and measurable business results within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage in proactive sales outreach to financial advisors and key firm contacts
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners and firms
• Create an effective outreach strategy aligned with company and territory goals
• Identify and cultivate new client opportunities while expanding the existing base
• Keep advisors informed on industry trends and economic developments
• Present technical product knowledge effectively and innovatively
• Exhibit thorough market knowledge and communicate Hartford Funds' solutions distinctly

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required
• Minimum 3 years of wholesaling experience
• Technical proficiency in mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment products
• Strong understanding of market dynamics and sales processes
• Knowledge of investment trends and the financial advisory business
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills

Pay

$125,000 – $125,000 annually
