Business Development Associate

About the role

We are currently partnered with a software-focused growth equity firm with offices in Austin and San Francisco seeking a Business Development Associate to join its growing team. This is an opportunity to work directly with seasoned Investor Relations and Business Development professionals while developing in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and qualify investment opportunities through proprietary outreach
• Build relationships with founders, executives, advisors, and intermediaries
• Conduct market research within the B2B software and AI ecosystem
• Support deal execution from initial outreach through LOIs and closing
• Manage and track deal flow across the investment pipeline
• Utilize AI tools to enhance sourcing and workflow efficiency

Requirements

• 3-4 years of investment banking experience
• Background in Financial Sponsors, Software, B2B Technology, or Growth Equity preferred
• Experience with proprietary outreach required
• Experience supporting live transactions through execution
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Hard-working, engaging, dedicated, and personable demeanor
• Proficiency with AI tools strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree with a strong record of academic and professional achievement
• Experience with bringing deals to a close
