Business Controller

About the role

The Business Controller is part of the North America Business Controlling team, a group of 15+ professionals supporting Vanderlande operations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, consolidate, and report financial data across Service Contracts, Projects, Supply Chain, Factory, and Business Support, with a strong focus on Site-Based Services and Projects
• Identify and drive financial improvement opportunities across the business
• Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects, partnering cross-functionally to track and deliver measurable results
• Support Services Controlling, including site-based services, spare parts, and field services
• Support Project Controlling, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Partner with Sales on Sales Controlling initiatives, including: Project cash flow management, Foreign currency exposure, Local tax estimation
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
• Collaborate with Shared Services teams to ensure quality and timeliness of administrative processes (e.g., invoicing)
• Maintain financial performance and monitor Latest Estimates (LE) in line with forecasting cycles and deadlines
• Provide financial guidance to ensure proper setup, execution, and reporting of projects and service contracts
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and forecasting discussions
• Contribute to ad hoc and strategic projects across North America and global teams

• Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field (Master’s preferred), Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Experience with Power BI preferred, Minimum 5+ years of experience in a business controller or similar role in an international environment, Experience in project-based or global organizations strongly preferred
