Business Banking Underwriter
About the role
This role will analyze and decide credit for small business and middle market commercial clients in accordance with UMB policies and Federal regulations. Complete cash flow, capital and collateral analysis for credit requests and properly structure approved loans. Analyze and spread financial statements. Utilize bank systems for loan processing and complete loan proposals. Complete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarks. Work closely with bank associates to facilitate loan closings. Manage pipeline of credits and prioritize incoming credit requests and tasks. Maintain working knowledge and stay current on lending and other bank policies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in (or emphasis in) business, marketing or finance
- 2 years experience in commercial lending or related banking field
- Demonstrates proficiency on MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Demonstrates good interpersonal & relationship building skills
- Demonstrates strong understanding & knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, & marketing practices
- Demonstrates ability to analyze and review loan applications to provide profitable results in the underwriting of small business loans and related credit products

Compensation Ranges US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York $62,310 - $90,760 US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin $56,890 - $83,080 US Employees in all other states not listed above $51,480 - $75,410 The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
