Business Banking Senior Credit Analyst

About the role
The Senior Credit Analyst will play a leading role in supporting the Business Banking team with centralized underwriting needs, assist with line of business portfolio management, and handle other complex credit functions.
Responsibilities
- Produce complex credit analysis assignments for the line of business, including new extensions of credit, renewals, annual reviews, modifications, and other tasks.
- Take a leading role in underwriting goals by providing guidance and training to other analysts on the team.
- Understand the bank’s metrics and conditions for tracking clients' operating and financial performance post-loan origination, including covenant monitoring and borrowing base compliance.
- Demonstrate a firm understanding of the bank’s loan policy and program for extending credit.
- Provide front-end support for loan request packages to ensure all pertinent financial information is included in the credit file.
- Possess a strong understanding of loan documentation and the ability to produce summaries of important loan conditions and collateral structures.
- Become proficient in all systems and procedures used by Business Banking, including spreading software, credit approval software, and formats for formal credit recommendations.
- Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening or weekend hours to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another applicable undergraduate or graduate degree (preferred). In lieu of a degree, completion of a formal credit training program or certification is required.
- Minimum of three years in a commercial credit analysis function.
- Experience analyzing complex credit data and financial statements to assess risk in extending credit.
- Proven ability to think critically and communicate results concisely and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Solid business communication skills, including professional writing with correct grammar and sentence structure.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks or projects on time.
- Commitment to staying educated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements while continuously developing professionally.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good organizational skills, high level of accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in current technology, including personal computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and other technology-based tools.
- Aptitude for learning new systems and applications quickly, specifically Salesforce.com and nCino Bank Operating System.
- Travel may be required as needed.
Working Conditions
