Senior Business Analyst
About the Role
RT Specialty, a division of Ryan Specialty, is a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services. Our experienced brokers specialize in property, casualty, professional lines, transportation, and workers’ compensation, providing creative solutions to retail brokerage firms. This role will support strategic business initiatives, acting as a vital link between technical solutions and business objectives. The Senior Business Analyst will lead or participate in multiple, complex projects to enhance efficiency and integration across RT Specialty.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships and partnerships with key business stakeholders, staying current on their needs, challenges, and strategies.
- Gather detailed requirements, identify improvements and best practices, propose new or optimized solutions, and develop execution strategies to meet long-term business goals.
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation related to projects, solutions, and processes, including business requirements, scope, use cases, and future state proposals.
- Develop and execute a project communication plan, facilitating updates, meetings, working sessions, and presentations tailored for diverse audiences.
- Gather, synthesize, and analyze complex data to recognize trends and extract insights, supporting informed decision-making for leadership and team members.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), developing plans and strategies to ensure solutions meet current and future business needs.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in relevant software, solutions, and business processes to define requirements, provide recommendations, and develop action plans.
- Adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
- Participate in Agile team sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, often managing multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Provide leadership to team members and peers through collaboration, articulating ideas, initiating projects, managing resources, and holding teams accountable for results.
- Monitor project milestones, identify blockers or risks, coordinate resolutions, and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders as needed.
- Identify ways to increase adoption and user satisfaction, improving the customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) and 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably with consultative experience or business/systems analysis in a complex business environment.
- Prior experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is desirable.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience with Agile development techniques and supporting tools is desirable.
- Prior experience using Jira and Confluence is desirable.
- Experience with insurance policy management/administration systems is desirable.
- Project management skills, such as defining scope, maintaining project plans, and driving project teams.
- Ability to analyze data and draw business-relevant conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with clients, partners, coworkers, and executives.
- Ability to handle multiple deliverables and adeptly manage internal and external interactions.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision, demonstrating a strong work ethic and excellence.

Pay
The target salary range for this position is $106,080.00 – $132,600.00 annually. The wage range considers factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure, certification, business needs, and market demands. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
