About the role

A Business Banking Officer at Canandaigua National Bank & Trust works independently and in conjunction with Community Offices to identify opportunities to grow and retain business. The role involves achieving quarterly personal sales goals, including acquiring new business and achieving annual net new closed commercial loan production. The Business Banking Officer is also responsible for managing and growing a small commercial loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops opportunities to grow and retain business within assigned branch footprint.
  • Works closely with branch staff to expand the "book of business" and reach out to businesses within the branch area.
  • Utilizes Centers of Influence to bring new business opportunities to Canandaigua National Bank.
  • Assists Branch Manager and staff with all components of lending, including application intake, structure, rate, documentation, closing, and internal processes and systems.
  • Acts as a representative of Canandaigua National Bank at outside events and training opportunities.
  • Manages client portfolio as assigned by the Business Banking Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and service.
  • Experience in business banking or commercial lending required.

Qualifications

  • Proactive approach to reaching out to businesses within the branch footprint.
  • Ability to utilize Centers of Influence to bring new business opportunities to Canandaigua National Bank.
  • Knowledge of commercial mortgage, business start-up, and SBA loans.
  • Experience in managing and growing a commercial loan portfolio.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Proficiency in using internal systems and processes for loan origination and management.
  • Knowledge of ACH and RDC origination products.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $94,000 - $110,000, with the actual salary offered dependent on various factors including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
