About the Role
LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. (LGES Vertech) is a full-service energy storage system supplier and integrator. The Business Applications Manager is responsible for the lifecycle ownership, roadmap, governance, support model, and continuous improvement of Vertech’s business application portfolio. This role serves as the bridge between business process owners, IT, AI & Data, cybersecurity, vendors, and implementation partners to ensure enterprise applications are reliable, secure, integrated, scalable, and aligned with Process Innovation and operational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap, lifecycle plan, risk profile, business value, support model, and improvement backlog for assigned business applications.
- Partner with functional leaders and process owners to identify business needs, clarify problem statements, define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and manage expectations.
- Maintain application backlogs in a transparent system of record, ensure requests are captured with sufficient business context, and facilitate prioritization based on value, risk, urgency, and resource capacity.
- Lead or coordinate application implementations, upgrades, configuration changes, integrations, testing, UAT, training, change communications, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Coordinate API and integration requirements across enterprise systems, ensuring data flows are documented, secure, supportable, and aligned with data governance and source-of-truth decisions.
- Manage vendor relationships, service levels, quotes, invoices, delivery performance, escalations, renewal planning, contract inputs, and support expectations for assigned applications.
- Define the tiered support model for each application, including system owners, business owners, vendor support paths, helpdesk intake, knowledge articles, enhancement intake, and incident escalation.
- Partner with AI/Data Governance, IT, and Cybersecurity to ensure applications maintain data integrity, access controls, auditability, retention expectations, and appropriate security controls.
- Aid in the development of system documentation, user guides, release notes, FAQs, office hours, and adoption campaigns that improve user experience and reduce avoidable support burden.
- Identify opportunities to reduce duplicate tools, consolidate workflows, retire unsupported systems, standardize application ownership, and reduce manual workarounds.
Decision Rights and Accountability
- Owns the application roadmap and backlog process for assigned business applications, including intake quality, prioritization facilitation, and release planning.
- Recommends application changes, upgrades, vendor selections, support model improvements, and replacement strategies to the Director, Process Innovation and business sponsors.
- Does not independently approve security exceptions, restricted-data movements, legal/commercial commitments, or major enterprise architecture deviations without appropriate stakeholder approval.
- Escalates unresolved resource, priority, vendor, security, integration, and application ownership conflicts to the Director, Process Innovation.
Key Partnerships
- Business process owners across Service, Operations, Project Execution, Finance, HR, Sales, Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, and Customer Operations.
- AI and Data Governance team for source-of-truth decisions, data model alignment, analytics readiness, dashboard dependencies, and AI-enabled workflows.
- IT infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Legal teams for identity, access, endpoint, security, audit, change management, and support integration.
- Vendors and implementation partners for Softwrench, Salesforce, SAP, Atlassian, SharePoint, PLM/CAD, integration middleware, and related platforms.
- LGES HQ and CNS stakeholders for enterprise system alignment, cross-company integrations, policy requirements, and application governance expectations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing enterprise applications, business systems, SaaS platforms, system implementations, integrations, or IT/business transformation programs.
- Experience leading application lifecycle activities such as requirements, design, configuration, testing, release management, support, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of ERP, CRM, PLM, work management, workflow, collaboration, BI, and integration concepts, including APIs and system-of-record/source-of-truth design.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate prioritization among stakeholders with competing needs, incomplete requirements, and resource constraints.
- Strong vendor management, project management, communication, change management, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams, cybersecurity, business users, executives, and external implementation partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Softwrench, SAP/NERP, Salesforce, Atlassian/Jira, SharePoint, Agile PLM, CAD systems, HR systems, ERS, Microsoft Power Platform, or comparable enterprise applications.
- Experience in energy storage, renewable energy, manufacturing, field service, asset management, or regulated operational environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile/hybrid delivery, secure SDLC, SOC 2, ISO 27001, data governance, privacy, and vendor risk management.
- Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Scrum/Agile, Microsoft, Salesforce, Atlassian, SAP, or equivalent practical experience.
