Temporary assignment expected to end on February 27, 2027. Temporary employees are only allowed to work a maximum of 1,040 hours in a calendar year. Any hours worked as a temporary employee for another State of Oregon agency will be applied toward the 1,040-hour maximum. The assignment will end when the 1,040 hours are reached, even if prior to the expected end date.

Responsibilities

  • Interview a high volume of job seekers to identify goals/needs, transferable skills, and interests.
  • Provide job seekers referrals for job listings, guidance for the application process, document writing, and interviewing techniques.
  • Provide progressive assessments to job seekers, as needed, to inform provision of services on an ongoing basis with other WorkSource staff.
  • Occasionally travel throughout the state.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience providing customer service, which included requesting and reviewing information, documentation, and deciding an action based on the information. Examples of qualifying experience include eligibility interviewer, application examiner, unemployment insurance, examination proctor, information clerk, insurance aide, public counter intake person, employment and claims aide, employment services, job placement, recruiter, vocational guidance, or retail industry if it involved the stated experience.
  • Two years of education or experience; 45-quarter (30-semester) college-level credits in Human Resources, Vocational or Career Counseling, Social Services, Psychology, Education, Business or Public Administration, Communication, or related field substitute for one year of experience.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $4,519 - $6,276 per month. The listed range is the non-PERS qualifying salary. If the successful candidate is PERS-qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%. Salary placement is determined through an equal pay assessment based on the information in your Workday profile.

Schedule

This is a full-time, temporary position expected to last until February 27, 2027, with a maximum of 1,040 work hours in a calendar year. This position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Work Location

This position will report to the Beaverton/Hillsboro WorkSource Office and is not suitable for remote or hybrid remote work.
