About the role
Costco Travel IT is responsible for the technical future of Costco Wholesale, a global retailer with a strong focus on employee-centric culture and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Possesses product knowledge and process improvement skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively propose solutions.
- Defines and communicates requirements, risks, and issues that may require action.
- Identifies, builds, and manages stakeholder relationships (business partners, users, vendors, customers, project team members, and management leaders).
- Aids the development team in translating business requirements into functional or non-functional specifications.
- Builds and maintains reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor and analyze the performance of vendors and systems.
- Prepares materials in a clear, explicit, and presentable format to report out to stakeholders.
- Develops individual and team business analysis plans, to manage activities, tasks, deliverables, and schedules.
- Builds solutions/workflows to identify errors or exceptions with the vendor connection and coordinates with appropriate teams to correct the issue and prevent future occurrences.
- Identifies opportunities for streamlining and increasing effectiveness through continuous process improvement.
- Works with business, vendors, and technology groups to coordinate testing and implementations.
- Participates in planning sessions to outline implementation requirements prior to deployment.
- Provides first-level support for problems and issues as it relates to vendor connections.
- Conducts ad-hoc reporting and analysis that drive high-impact business results.
- Identifies and recommends new vendor partners based on the needs of the business.
- Manages multiple projects and workflows simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Assists with other assigned special projects.
Requirements
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and demonstrates the ability to research and problem-solve effectively.
- Ability to compare and review data for inconsistencies; ability to communicate and understand root causes and take lead on resolution; ability to engage other teams as necessary.
- Possesses the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with teammates, suppliers, cross-functional teams, and with all organizational levels of Costco.
- Previous experience successfully managing multiple projects and tasks; excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across competing priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to take direction and coaching from management and peers; values and demonstrates excellent and positive team interaction.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes.
- Proven experience in critical thinking in solving complex business problems, consistent with a deep understanding of the strategic direction of the business.
- Recommended 3+ years’ Costco Travel experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Analysis, Business, Information Technology, or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrated success with initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret XML, JSON, or related data exchange formats.
- Experience with basic SQL queries and Splunk queries.
- Experience with basic Tableau Report generation.
- Experience with both Google and Microsoft O365 products.
- Proficient in Microsoft Workspace applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

- Pay Ranges: Level 1 - $33.65 - $45.67, Level 2 - $90,000 - $120,000, Level 3 - $110,000 - $145,000.
