Business Analyst Sr (Payments Industry / Business Reporting)

About the Role

This role aligns technology solutions with business strategies to improve business reporting capabilities, enhance technical analyses, improve forecasting accuracy, facilitate operational planning, and refine processes to maximize business performance in Payments. It requires both technical data analytic skills and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of business metrics and data structure to deliver ongoing business reporting on base metrics and discover or anticipate problems where data can drive solutions or insights to inform business strategy.
• Actively participate in the initial and continual development, as well as ongoing maintenance, of reports and models.
• Maintain and refine historic and forward-looking business metrics and statistics to guide decision-making.
• Assist in creating and compiling daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages, highlighting results and variance analysis.
• Identify and execute opportunities for process improvement and standardization across business lines.
• Drive standard definitions around key data elements and support projects related to achieving data consistency, availability, and quality.
• Identify and implement technology solutions to reduce manual processes, enhance controls, improve cycle times, and support consistency.
• Play an integral role in transitioning from a legacy reporting environment to a modern platform and evolving executive dashboards and reporting.
• Generate one-time, ad-hoc reports by crafting custom queries against the data repository.
• Work closely with internal and external partners to obtain supporting information and data, developing a consistent view of product performance and operational support functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.
• 5+ years of work experience, preferably in Payments or an adjacent industry.
• Ability to problem-solve complex data and technical challenges related to reporting responsibilities, independently or collaboratively.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to manage reporting migration and ad-hoc requests.
• Strong ability to collaborate with internal customers.

Skills

• Experience with ThoughtSpot, PowerBI (building reports, entitlements), SQL, Snowflake, advanced Excel, and SalesForce Reporting.
• Experience working through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Pay

Salary range: $72,000 – $120,000. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by factors including a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based incentive opportunity.
