The Senior Business Analyst - HL7 Interfaces serves as a domain expert for healthcare interoperability and system integrations. This role is responsible for leading requirements discovery, workflow analysis, and stakeholder collaboration for HL7- and FHIR-based interfaces across EMR and enterprise systems. The position requires a strong understanding of patient workflows, interface engines, Epic Bridges, and Agile delivery practices, along with the ability to effectively engage vendors and technical teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions for HL7 and FHIR interface initiatives.
• Analyze and document end-to-end patient workflows and system interactions.
• Develop and maintain interface specifications, mapping documents, and acceptance criteria.
• Drive vendor discussions by asking informed technical and workflow-based questions.
• Identify when architectural input is required and proactively engage integration architects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage backlog items using Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 5 years required in healthcare IT, system integration, or API-focused business analysis.
• Additional Skills (required): Working knowledge of API concepts, including REST, API contracts, and documentation standards. Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting requirements for system integrations or APIs.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Experience supporting API initiatives in a healthcare environment. Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation tools. Experience working with integration platforms or enterprise integration teams. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
