About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the development and enhancement of business systems within IQVIA. This position involves providing expertise and systems support to ensure the delivery of new or improved products for clients, as well as designing effective planning, reporting, and analytical tools for internal functions. The Senior Business Analyst will work under general direction, analyzing business and user needs, defining system scope and objectives, and translating these into clear, comprehensive system requirements. The role requires a high level of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to serve as a client-facing functional expert during various project phases including onboarding, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support. The successful candidate will also mentor less experienced analysts, lead requirements definition efforts, and evaluate the business implications of applying new technologies to support IQVIA’s strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of systems analysis experience
- Knowledge of business-wide applications, including third-party software and internal operational systems
- Strong understanding of client and business requirements, infrastructure applications, and processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience supporting IQVIA client-facing applications and products (preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of IQVIA data assets and current systems (preferred)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Formulate and define system scope and objectives based on user needs and business requirements
- Analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and translate them into detailed system specifications
- Devise or modify procedures to resolve complex business and system issues, considering system capacity and limitations
- Evaluate the business implications of applying new technologies within current and future environments
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced Business Systems Analysts
- Lead end-to-end requirements definition for client implementations and migrations, translating contractual scope into detailed Business Requirements Documents
- Define and implement data validation strategies, including checks, reconciliation logic, and exception handling
- Participate in client working sessions, design reviews, and status meetings, providing functional guidance and risk assessments
- Communicate requirements, impacts, and project status clearly to stakeholders
- Serve as a client-facing functional expert during onboarding, testing, go-live, and post-implementation phases
