About the role
The Business Analyst II at HCA is responsible for analyzing Patient Logistics Center operations, developing reports, and driving process improvements. They also provide reporting to maintain data quality and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Synthesizes financial and operational data from various sources in response to ad hoc requests.
- Manages a suite of recurring reports and reporting tools to ensure stakeholders have timely and accurate data.
- Identifies critical trends and communicates them proactively to leadership.
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental strategic priorities.
- Serves as the primary liaison between analytics departments.
- Educates/trains stakeholders on reports, data tools, and business intelligence resources.
- Analyzes productivity and performance data for key trends and opportunity areas.
- Collaborates with corporate teams to ensure reporting meets enterprise standards.
- Maintains a suite of reports to monitor staff compliance with process and data standards.
- Trains department staff on documentation standards.
- Serves as the primary admin for departmental workflow/documentation applications.
- Participates in the Patient Logistics Center Analyst community by sharing best practices and mentoring new team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, Healthcare Information, Computing, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Minimum 2 or more years of experience in data & reporting or analytics centric position; 2+ years of analytics experience in Patient Logistics Center or related setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use a combination of applications and tools to complete analysis, including SQL, Teradata, PowerBI, Qlikview, Tableau, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced skill with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, charts, macros/VBA, data connections/queries.
- Strong understanding of Patient Logistics Center terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Clear customer-service orientation and experience working with executive level stakeholders.
Skills
- Advanced SQL and database querying skills.
- Data visualization and dashboard development.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and data management skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare services' volumes, financial metrics, utilization, and market demographics.
