Business Analyst
About the role
The Office of State Courts Administrator in Jefferson City, MO offers a position for a Business Analyst. This role involves analyzing organizational needs, designing workflow solutions, documenting requirements, and collaborating with IT and court staff to develop, test, and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business process areas, identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Create process flows, concept documents, requirement documents, and functional specifications.
- Analyze business data to support design decisions.
- Present concepts and design solutions to committees for approval.
- Collaborate with development team, business teams, and end users to deliver solutions.
- Develop and implement quality assurance tests for both manual and automated testing.
- Support user acceptance testing and implementation strategy.
- Maintain project progress and ensure solutions align with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
- Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Ability to analyze policies, procedures, and operations; organize components into system specifications, databases, and/or programs; and adapt them to an automated system.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to elicit requirements using different techniques.
- Ability to create and understand process diagrams, flowcharts, and business models.
- Ability to identify and define scope, objectives, and functionality of a project.
- Ability to translate technical terminology into easy-to-understand terms.
- Ability to translate business processes into information technology requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of relational database design.
- Working knowledge of structured query language (SQL).
- Working knowledge of the general operating principles and capabilities of computer hardware and software.
- Working knowledge of software frameworks used by the Information Technology Services Division.
