Position Summary

Work within a defined organizational structure to identify opportunities for cost savings related to improved product, service and process standardization and utilization by appropriately assisting in the selection, evaluation, monitoring, analysis and implementation of cost-effective products, services and processes in the healthcare system, which may include but not be limited to the hospital, clinic(s), network, and/or healthcare system. Manage projects as assigned. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical and healthcare system staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes, including implementation of UHC benchmarking findings, technology assessments and other UHC initiatives. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.

Responsibilities

  • NEXT-LEVEL ANALYSIS - Communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical personnel to understand and define user needs, gather and analyze data and recommend solutions
  • PROJECTS - Coordinate projects with other departments and external organizations and agencies
  • DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
  • BUDGET - Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
  • PROJECTS - Lead and manage large scope, highly complex projects with organization-wide visibility and impact
  • ANALYSIS - Participate in clinical environment analysis of supply utilization, customer satisfaction and quality, staffing efficiency
  • SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT - Responsible for the evaluation of supply and equipment needs; develops plans for equipment repair or replacement
  • ANALYSIS - Prepare monthly financial analysis by cost center and roll up for assigned area
  • COST CONTAINMENT - Develop and implement cost containment measures within assigned area
  • QUALITY - Ensure quality control and quality improvement for all services, supply chain processes (inventory, materials, supplies); process improvement on internal (nursing units & business systems) and external (patients and staff) processes to enhance safety and satisfaction and efficiency
  • COORDINATION - Demonstrate collaborative skills with clinicians, physicians, management and staff to engage in performance improvement efforts that will assist the organization in meeting strategic objectives
  • SERVICES - Review and update procedures for assigned area; monitor procedures for effectiveness; review results, monitor trends and make corrections as required

  • Education: Essential: Bachelor's Degree
    Nonessential: Master's Degree
    Essential: Education specialization: Related Discipline
    Nonessential: Nursing
  • Experience: Essential: 2 years directly related experience
    Nonessential: No preferred experience
  • Credentials: Essential: Not Applicable/Not Required
  • Physical Conditions: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.
