About the role
We are Now Hiring Diesel Mechanics! Transdev in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Mechanics to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanics, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, etc.
- Ensure work orders are completed properly & maintain records of all work completed, including parts and supplies used.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
- Process, or willing to obtain Commercial Driver’s License within the first year of employment is strongly preferred.
- ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s tool set.

Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.00 - $30.00 / hour.

Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
