Job Description

The primary responsibility of a Bus Mechanic is to maintain, repair, and service school buses to ensure they are safe and operational. This includes diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on school buses
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks
  • Ensure all buses meet safety standards and regulations
  • Communicate with supervisors and other mechanics regarding bus maintenance needs
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 2 years of experience in automotive mechanics or related field
  • Knowledge of bus maintenance procedures and safety regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
