BUS MECHANIC

About the role

JED Transportation is seeking an experienced full-time Bus/Diesel Mechanic with 15+ years of diagnostic experience. The position involves troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, with the ability to work independently and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on diesel engines and related systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance on buses and diesel vehicles
• Work independently based on general direction from supervisors

Requirements

• 15+ years of diagnostic experience in diesel mechanics
• Strong diagnostic, electrical, and A/C skills
• Possess recommended minimum hand tools
• CDL Class B license with air brakes and passenger endorsement (preferred)
• ASE certification
• Familiarity with Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel, and Allison software (a plus)

Qualifications

• Diesel engine repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (preferred)

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
• Some weekends required
• Flexible hours possible

Pay

$30–$40 per hour
