About the District
The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) is the fourth-largest school district in California, located in southern Sacramento County. About the Role
Positions available:
- Bus Driver Trainee - Salary Schedule 24, $18.23 per hour
- Substitute Bus Driver - Salary Schedule #20, Range 451, $21.84 per hour
- Contracted Bus Driver - Salary Schedule #20, Range 451, $21.84 - $31.77 per hour
The district will provide School Bus Driver training and assist with the Class B driver's license application process. Read EGUSD's School Bus Driver Training Program Policies.
Requirements
- Valid CLASS C DRIVER'S LICENSE OR HIGHER (copy required)
- K-4 DMV (Driving Record) printout (not needed at the time of application)
- Ability to pass an Employee Entrance Evaluation, demonstrating physical agility such as reaching, stretching, twisting, turning, lifting, and bending
- Compliance with controlled substance testing requirements
Pay
- Bus Driver Trainee: $18.23 per hour
- Substitute Bus Driver: $21.84 per hour
- Contracted Bus Driver: $21.84 - $31.77 per hour
Substitute and Bus Driver Trainee positions are paid via timesheet. The pay period runs from the 16th of the month to the 15th of the following month, with checks mailed on or before the 10th or 17th of the following month.
For substitute employment and differential leave purposes, all classified substitute employees shall be paid at step 1 of the classification in which they substitute, or the lowest step consistent with California minimum wage, whichever is greater. EGUSD retirees substituting in the classification from which they retired shall be paid at the step they were on when they retired; for other classifications, they will be paid at step 1 or the lowest step consistent with California minimum wage, whichever is greater.
