About the role

The work is responsible for the daily administration of the financial aspects of student accounts within the BOCES Health Careers and Services program. The work involves maintaining students’ accounts and transactions, including the reconciliation of their awarded aid through federal government financial grant and loan programs. The work includes communicating with both students, parents and vendors regarding the financial aspects of their student accounts and records. The Bursar is also responsible for ensuring compliance with BOCES, federal and state laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain students’ accounts and transactions, including the reconciliation of their awarded aid through federal government financial grant and loan programs.
  • Communicate with students, parents and vendors regarding the financial aspects of their student accounts and records.
  • Ensure compliance with BOCES, federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of financial management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with federal government financial grant and loan programs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in financial management or a related field.

  • Ability to work independently and confidentially.
