Bulk Operator EM (Can Line 3): Sun-Tues 6:30am-6:30pm Wed 6:30am-12:30pm

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately interpret batching sheets and other production documents to determine the order and quantity of ingredients.
• Stage ingredients to be batched and clean totes to contain the batches.
• Record production-related data including lot numbers, supplier information, batching date codes, and plan numbers for gravy.
• Inspect each ingredient bag for condition, foreign material, grain lumps, off color, off odor, infestation, or expired materials.
• Perform batching by weighing each ingredient per the card into a tote, labeling the tote, and staging it to stay 15 batches ahead of the production schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness of the gravy room, filtration system, and dry ingredient area; vacuum or wipe totes clean prior to batching gravies.
• Cover unused ingredients to prevent contamination, tape opened bags shut, and date/initial each one.
• Participate in team development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Attend team meetings and foster cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plans, and policy changes.
• Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the team leader’s attention and working toward resolution.
• Support Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies) and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Experience within a manufacturing or process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Machine operation experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or warehouse industry experience.
• Military experience valued.

Physical Activities

• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
• Must be able to physically move bags of ingredients and totes weighing 40–60 pounds.
