Position Information
These positions are located in Property Management of the Renovation Division.
About the Role
Serves as a key member of the Property Management team within the Renovation Division. Oversees contractor work, manages construction projects, and ensures compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise contractors in performing maintenance or repair duties.
- Communicate, report, and complete work orders using technology like smartphones or tablets.
- Purchase construction and maintenance-related items and ensure related financial paperwork is delivered to administrative staff.
- Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in construction and renovation of county buildings and facilities.
- Conduct maintenance inspections to identify potential problems, unsafe conditions, and needed repairs.
- Initiate necessary actions to correct deviations or violations.
- Remove or install flooring, ceiling tiles, fixtures, appliances, paint interior and exterior surfaces, remove or install carpet, plaster applications, millwork fabrication, and replace drywall.
- Assist in ensuring operations, construction, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and systems comply with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in building trades.
- One year of experience in building construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Maintain a valid Driver's License.
Qualifications
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
- Perception and discrimination of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
- Communication orally.
- Exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, smoke, noise extremes, and electric currents.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and design drawings.
- Skilled and semi-skilled carpentry, painting, and masonry/concrete repair work.
- Ability to perform rough and finish carpentry, painting, and minor masonry/concrete repair work.
- Experience in commercial blueprints and drawings.
- Knowledge of relevant safety protocols and regulations.
