Building Trades Technician 1
About the Role
The Village of Montgomery is seeking a dependable, skilled Building Trades Technician to join our Public Works Department and support the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems across all Village-owned facilities. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained municipal buildings, with a strong emphasis on commercial HVAC repair and maintenance.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, takes pride in maintaining safe and reliable equipment, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and vocational training in commercial HVAC systems.
- Have four to six years of prior experience in commercial building maintenance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of commercial building systems, HVAC repair methods, tools, and safety practices.
- Be able to diagnose defects in HVAC equipment and research solutions.
- Have practical knowledge of Building Automation Systems.
- Must possess EPA 608 Certification, Lift Certification, and Boiler Certification within six months of hire.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pay
The starting pay for this position is $30.25 per hour.
