Summary Of Responsibilities
Maintain and repair campus buildings and structures.
Assist carpenters and painters in various tasks such as:
- Fix and repair storm windows, broken windows, insect and security screens, and other glaze and glass work.
- Locate and eliminate entry points for pests, including bats, squirrels, mice, bees, wasps, and ants.
- Repair bathroom partitions.
- Respond to emergencies, including floods, roof leaks, broken windows and screens, etc.
- Auxiliary tasks include setting up for special functions, installing artwork, banners, signs, and plaques, moving office contents, building and installing bookshelves and cases, and painting interior and some exterior finishes.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and successful credentialing to operate college vehicles.
- One to three years of maintenance experience.
- Basic carpentry and/or construction skills.
- An attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work evenings and weekends, including emergencies.
- Successful completion of required reference and background checks.
- An acceptable criminal offender records information (CORI) check.
- Completion of a pre-employment physical/lift test.
Preferred
- A vocational school diploma.
- One to three years of carpentry experience.
Pay
The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $17.00 to $19.00. The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations.
Schedule
The position is designated as providing essential services and may be required to report to work or remain on duty even when the College is closed. In addition, must respond to emergency calls and be available for call-ins on nights and weekends as well as scheduled events.
