Building Structural Engineer - Intern

As a Building Structural Intern in our Structural/Marine Group in Fairfax, VA, you will join a collaborative team of engineers and architects working on buildings, industrial facilities, water/wastewater plants, and waterfront facilities. WRA offers a strong mentoring culture and focuses on staff development. Interns receive training in structural analysis and design for various building types and materials, and are trained in developing concept designs and creating construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an ABET‑accredited Civil Engineering bachelor’s or master’s program, preferably with a Structural concentration.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software (RISA, STAAD, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with drafting and modeling software (Revit and AutoCAD) is a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without need for employment‑based visa sponsorship now or in the future; WRA will not sponsor visas for this position.
Pay
The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $21.50 – $24.50.
Schedule
Full‑time internship.
