BUILDING SERVICES TECHNICIAN III - Facilities Management

About the role

Provides maintenance and operating services for County buildings through preventive maintenance, repair, event set-up, and emergency management system operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintains building systems for safe and comfortable operation.
• Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and associated equipment.
• Maintains and assists with plumbing repairs and other associated building repairs.
• Works with vendors and contractors; may oversee work to ensure proper performance.
• Provides general building maintenance services, including moving furniture as needed.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of general maintenance and specialized experience in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical.
• Knowledge of A/C, plumbing, electrical, chill water systems, and boiler systems.
• Expertise in at least one building operating system.
• Valid and current Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.

Skills

Supervisory and training experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Regularly required to lift, carry, climb, stoop, walk, stand, sit, work indoors/outdoors with loud equipment, push, and pull.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases, parasites, dangerous chemicals, and electrical hazards.
• May require overtime, rotating shifts, nights, evenings, weekends, and holiday work.
