Full-time, unlimited position on the evening shift (2pm-10pm), Monday - Friday.
Travel required: 5% on Capitol complex.
About the role
This is both a leadership and hands-on position. It leads an internal working group responsible for standardizing janitorial procedures, equipment, supplies, and training methods across facilities. It also supervises a janitorial team including hands-on training, inspections, coaching, and disciplinary action. Additional responsibilities include back-up for Night Building Manager, assisting with hiring and onboarding new team members, and coordinating special cleaning projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead an internal working group to develop and implement standardized janitorial procedures, equipment, supplies, and training methods.
- Supervise a janitorial team, including hands-on training, inspections, coaching, and disciplinary action.
- Serve as back-up for the Night Building Manager.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Coordinate special cleaning projects.
Requirements
- One year of supervisory experience that includes providing clear verbal and written work direction, mentoring and developing staff, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance or conduct issues.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a collaborative internal working group to develop and implement standardized procedures and training programs.
- Demonstrated experience writing clear, concise correspondence, reports, procedures, training materials, or other professional documents.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills sufficient to coordinate multiple priorities and lead workgroups.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check, employment reference checks, and a state tax background check prior to employment.
- Pre-employment physical (CRT test requirement minimum is light-medium, e.g., able to lift 13-21 lbs. frequently, 100-300 reps an hour).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or updating procedures, training materials, or position descriptions.
- Janitorial experience, including knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, workplace safety practices, and proper chemical handling procedures.
Pay
Salary Range: $25.12 - $37.28 / hourly; $52,450 - $77,840 / annually.
