Building Services Supervisor

Purpose of Position

To perform supervisory work directing and coordinating housekeeping and custodial maintenance and related services. Responsible for the supervision of building service employees and for organizing, planning, and directing projects for the custodial department.

Essential Functions

• Supervise the performance of general custodial functions, train staff in proper cleaning procedures, and proper operation of all custodial equipment.
• Inspect buildings for cleanliness, completed work, and needed repairs.
• Assist in the inventorying of supplies and equipment.
• Interview and make hiring recommendations for custodial workers.
• Perform general cleaning and custodial work.
• Communicate/advise administrative superiors of the need for building repairs and maintenance activities.
• Drive a UTA-owned vehicle.
• Oversee key management.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and implementing cleaning projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to effectively execute oral and written instructions in English.
• A valid Texas driver’s license and three (3) years of driving history.
• Three (3) years of experience in custodial management or services or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Skill in the use of custodial chemicals and the operation of custodial equipment.
• Ability to motivate and teach building services employees.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday; 3:30 pm through 12:00 am.
