Building Security

Part-time, non-exempt, hourly position within the Security department reporting to the Director of Security.

About the role

Responsible for receiving incoming product and equipment and notifying the appropriate staff of its arrival. Monitor CCTV and report any potential issues to the Director of Security.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.
• Learn and operate the complex CCTV system.
• Report in detail any potential issues within the complex.
• Report any issues with alarm systems to appropriate staff.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
• Contact Law Enforcement and Director of Security in cases of emergency, presence of unauthorized persons, or other incidents.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills essential when interacting with supervisors, company staff, outside vendors, and exhibitors.
• Experience working with CCTV.
• Knowledge of law enforcement and security practices (helpful if acquired through a protective services/law enforcement technical college program).
• Proven verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of company personnel, promoters/clients, and the public.
• Ability to exercise proper action and attitude in handling incidents and demands of the entertainment environment.
• Requires standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Frequently handles and lifts, carries, or pulls items weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal range.
• Must be able to distinguish and identify colors.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Occasionally exposed to temperature extremes, noise, confined spaces, and moisture/dampness.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedule.
