Role Overview: The Building Permit Technician supports the review and processing of building plans and permits to ensure quality construction. Key Responsibilities: Verifies permit details, assesses fees, initiates review workflows, and assists customers in person and electronically. Provides guidance on procedures, resolves issues, and updates permit records for accuracy. Conducts code compliance reviews, approves permit applications, and assigns case types under supervision. Participates in process improvements and monitors permit compliance. Qualifications & Skills: Requires a high school diploma, two years of relevant experience, and preferably experience in local government permit processing. Skills in administrative support, customer service, and computer applications are preferred. Formal education or certification in city planning or building compliance is a plus. Work Environment: Primarily performed indoors, with responsibilities subject to change. Additional Details: Position is full-time, non-exempt, with a salary range of $21.96 - $32.94 per hour.
