About the role

We are looking for an Entry Level Building Management System (BMS) Engineer/Designer to execute Controls design for mission-critical projects. Typical projects include greenfield and brownfield data center facilities, fit-out packages for hyperscale and enterprise clients, and data center campus systems. This role involves executing specific design tasks as part of a broader mechanical team while developing your skills under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers. You will interface with internal design leads (mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing) and external partners (architectural, civil, structural). The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and seeks rapid career growth. This position is open to full-time, part-time, and internship/co-op applicants.

Responsibilities

• Execute BMS and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) design tasks for various project types while coordinating with clients and design leads across disciplines.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and clients to meet scheduled project deadlines.
• Utilize Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents.
• Assist with designing systems network topology and developing one-line detail diagrams.
• Learn to select and specify BMS equipment.
• Work necessary hours to meet major deliverables and project deadlines.
• Review and understand local and national construction codes and project specifications to broaden your knowledge of the construction process.
• Use Microsoft tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
• Travel to project sites as required (less than 10% travel).
• Communicate clearly in both written and spoken forms.
• Take direction from senior and mid-level engineers to execute specific design elements.
• Work independently while coordinating with senior personnel and other disciplines.
• Actively participate in training and mentoring opportunities to grow your knowledge and capabilities.
• Maintain excellent organizational skills, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requirements

• 2 or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred; HVAC construction experience with a drafting certification will also be considered.
• Past internship, co-op, or work experience in a consulting engineering role is a plus.
• Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
• Experience using Revit in an educational or professional context is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

Pay

Base compensation: $65,000–$100,000 (varies based on education, experience, skills, and location).
