Building Management System Engineer - Site Capacity
About the Department
You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approximately 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.
FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do this by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. Facilities designed today will still be a source of pride 20 years from now. FF Expansions has a global approach, where you will work with multiple sites and cultures across the world.
About the Role
Maintain and improve the reliability of the BMS system to meet current and projected customer, business, and regulatory requirements through the following focus areas: people, equipment, and standards gatekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute plans to maintain and improve the BMS system.
- Develop IA project ideas and prepare PPM submittals.
- Schedule and execute plans in coordination with operations schedules.
- Support IA projects and process improvement plans.
- Develop and maintain system documents, including specifications and maintenance plans.
- Coach and train Facility Engineers and Facility Maintenance Technicians.
- Employ cLEAN® tools within the main areas of problem solving, project, and change management.
- Coach and train users of the BMS.
Relationships
Reports to Manager, Facilities Engineering.
Physical Requirements
- May move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions.
- May be required to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift.
- May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role.
- May require color vision based on role.
- May require the ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering and strong HVAC/utilities troubleshooting experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing facility, especially within aseptic processing preferred.
Skills
- Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge: Knowledgeable in Siemens BMS - Insight and Siemens Historian – Info Center. Proficient in MS Office applications and SAP preferred.
- Organization/Planning: Proven expertise (e.g., project management) in planning/organization and project execution, follow-up, and completion preferred.
- Customer/Results Driven: Understands who the customer (internal/external) is, understands the customers’ requirements, prioritizes work, and develops processes that support the customers’ needs.
