Schedule

Full time. Two shift options:

  • Thursday – Monday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Friday – Tuesday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Rotating on-call schedule every 3 weeks with other technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Actively communicate with the Director of Physical Plant Operations to advise of maintenance issues and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain a schedule for routine maintenance tasks across the organization.
  • Perform inspections on physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, kitchen equipment, generators, elevator, lighting, security, machinery, and other systems within skill level to meet health and safety department requirements; maintain records of inspections.
  • Maintain upkeep and appearance of facilities, including:
    • Sheetrock finishing
    • Painting
    • General carpentry
    • Parking lot maintenance
    • Flooring
    • Landscaping
    • Simple electrical
    • Plumbing
    • HVAC (experience preferred)
  • Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner for patient records and compliance.
  • Assist with transportation, movement, and setup of equipment between facilities.
  • Recognize when a job exceeds skill level and requires the expertise of a tradesperson.
  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and patience when interacting with patients, families, co-workers, and the public.
  • Represent Circle of Life positively to the community.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, versatility, and a positive attitude when integrating additional duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose problems and determine the best corrective action.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency with common hand and power tools to fix, replace, or repair equipment and facility parts.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little or no direct supervision.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to maintain written or computer records.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Current Arkansas driver’s license and auto liability insurance.
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to safely operate a truck.
  • Good hearing, vision, and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to read and speak English well enough to read road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with the public.
  • Basic knowledge of safety issues, hazards, and infection control (OSHA).
  • Preferred: Background in general maintenance and equipment repair with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or training.

Work Conditions

  • May work at multiple locations in a single day.
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including uncomfortably hot or cold temperatures.
  • Work in awkward or cramped conditions, or on ladders.
  • Risk of injury from electrical shock, burns, falls, cuts, and bruises.
  • May work in areas not wheelchair accessible at all times.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift 70 to 100 lbs.
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting, walking, climbing, and reaching.
  • May need to stand for long periods.
