About the Role
ERMC is seeking a Maintenance Technician Apprentice to assist with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks at DFW Airport.
Responsibilities
- Assist electrical, HVAC, and plumbing technicians
- Perform scheduled and non-scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
- Monitor HVAC airflow and distribution in Terminals
- Change HVAC filters
- Maintain, repair, and replace electrical motors
- Maintain, repair, and replace water and hydraulic pumps
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues
- Ensure proper use of tools for cutting, bending, and welding of equipment
- Carry out detailed evaluation of equipment to ensure proper condition
- Repair ceilings, floors, and walls using plaster, spackle, and paint
- Inspect equipment (e.g., refrigerators, air conditioners) for cleaning, speed, temperature, and lubrication
- Repair and change locks, including complex lock servicing
- Evaluate computer-related work orders for accuracy
Requirements
- Knowledge of electricity, carpentry, and plumbing (plumbing background preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication skills for reporting system problems
- Strong mechanical skills to handle equipment safely
- Must possess all basic hand tools
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must have a Government ID and Social Security card
- Able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge
- Reliable transportation
- Able to work in extreme conditions (hot/cold weather, small spaces)
- Must pass a criminal background check for security clearances
- Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed
- Must read, write, speak, and understand English
