Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of a building or area. Duties can vary from day to day and a maintenance schedule may be implemented so time management skills are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building
• Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities
• Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure
• Evacuate building in the event of an emergency
• Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations
• Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects
• Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on their premises
• Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification: Minimum 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled in a technical degree program in good standing, and up to 3 years of general building maintenance experience; ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Capable of basic installation and repairs to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, custodial, and other areas as needed

Pay Range

The expected starting pay range for this position is between $23.85 - $35.75. Compensation factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
