About the role

Coastal Orthopedics is seeking a dependable, hands-on Building Maintenance Specialist to support the maintenance and operations of our three Bradenton-area clinic locations. In this role, you'll help create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our patients, providers, and staff by ensuring our facilities, equipment, and building systems are operating at their highest level. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify and address safety concerns, maintenance needs, and operational issues.
  • Maintain exam rooms, procedure areas, offices, and common spaces to ensure all fixtures, lighting, and utilities are functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to scheduled and urgent maintenance requests across multiple clinic locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of facility assets and equipment.
  • Maintain exterior areas, including walkways, parking lots, and landscaping as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, labor, materials, and costs using the facility management system.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours or weekend support when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general mechanical systems.
  • Experience coordinating equipment repairs, purchasing facility supplies, and maintaining building grounds.
  • Basic understanding of building systems, including elevators, fire alarms, plumbing, and related infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training, engineering background, facility management experience, or related education.
  • Facilities Management certification or similar credential.
  • Strong customer-service mindset and commitment to creating a safe, professional environment.
